BEATS BY DR. DRE VS AUDIO TECHNICA
Audio is one of the most important elements of our technologically
advanced lifestyle. Audio is an essential component for audio monitoring, music production or the
most common listening to music. To an Audiophile better audio is essential. To
enhance our experience we need a good pair of headphones/headsets. Though
buying a good pair of headphones can be tricky. This is because there exist
many businesses in this market.
People are puzzled between considering
brand value or product specifications. When a person is looking for a
pair of headphones, people prefer the one with better sound
quality. But, nowadays, some people
consider buying headsets as fashion accessories.
Sidetracking from the primary use of
headphones i.e. LISTEN TO GOOD MUSIC ,
video editing or audio monitoring , people believe that if they buy a pair of
expensive headphones they need to “FLAUNT IT or fashion status”. If you are one of them ….just
buy a pair of BEATS BY DRE which will cost you just about $400. It’s not like
they sound bad ,it’s just a not value for money deal!
On the other hand, if you are
ones of those for whom sound quality is top priority when its comes to
buying headphones then there is nothing better
than ‘Audio Technica’ .
AUDIO TECHNICA: A Better and Cheap version of BEATS.
Audio Technica has being out in the market
for a while now(it has been out since 1962). They’ve been used in Grammy Music
Awards and as speech equipment for USA presidents. Autophiles from all over the
world have been complimenting Audio Technica’s headphones for their amazing and
accurate audio quality.
So the question is, if Audio Technica is so
good why does it seem like Beats has taken over the world? This is because Beats expends on both its
product and on its promotion. Celebrities all over the world showcase Beats
headphones in their movies, music videos, parties and even in their day to day
lives. And this promotion work wonders for Beats. 64% of expensive headphones sold are tagged
by Beats branding which is not at all a surprise. Also Unboxing a beats headphones is like
heaven.
The packing is way better than Audio Technica or any other headphone in
the market. But this cause a lot of difference in the cost of production and
the retail cost. Let’s be honest here your Beats headphone worth $300 aren’t
twice as good as $150 ones found in the market. For example, when Audio
Techinca's m50x was compared to Monster Beats Pro by DRE,
m50x was better than beats in all most every way. M50x was way more
adjustable than Beats. Audio Technica provided more crisp, balance, accurate,
punchy audio, good bass while Beats had overpowering bass and lacks of Mids in some of thier headphones.
In the “ Swag”
category Beats Pro are hands down classic, sexy pair of cups. There should be
no second thought about it if looks is utmost priority. But, if audio is what
matters the most then you should prefer the Audio Technica m50x. Companies like Audio Technica are rising and
giving competition to Beats. Because of this beats was bound to introduce a
lower end headphones which run around $200.They are good but then again m50x is
a better options because of its accurate audio quality and flexibility.
CONCLUSION
It is all up to you, what matters to you the most i.e the ultimate unboxing
experience, brand name and the looks or the better audio quality, affordable
price and versatility .
Just remember, while buying a pair of headphones take 2 things into consideration-
1. Your budget.
2. Priority: Looks or Specs!
